Certified PDF

At Van der Poorten Printer’s, we work with a fully automated PDF workflow. The best way to ensure trouble-free processing within our workflow is to deliver files that are “Certified PDF”.

A Certified PDF (cPDF) is compact and complete, meaning that your PDF is created with the correct specifications. You have the assurance that your file will be printed and look exactly as it was designed.

From within your layout program you can use an Acrobat Distiller profile and save your format as Certified PDF.

For our printing we use the standard for sheetfed offset:

  • GWG2022_CMYK_CC

The settings for creating PDFs according to these standards can be downloaded from www.gwg.org under “Application settings”: https://gwg.org/application-settings/

It is important that your PDF file meet the following requirements:

  • The images must be 150 dpi at least and in CMYK mode
  • The fonts must be present in the PDF
  • The format must be centred in the PDF
  • The PDF must have a trimbox (which defines the final format), crop marks and a bleed of at least 3 mm.
